Emu Ridge manufacture, wholesale and retail Eucalyptus oil and associated products. Utilizing our business ethos, we have value added to increase variety in our product range, adding to the success of our business. We have been able to market a large range of products using the eucalyptus oil itself.

The value added products we produce and sell include:

• Sweets
• Laundry liquid,
• Toiletries
• Gift packs and gift boxes

The majority of our products are distributed to Health Food, Craft, Souvenir and Gift Shops in South Australia. Products are further distributed through our mail order system around the world, which is used regularly. Orders for goods can be placed by phone, fax or email, and price lists are available by request for easier ordering, orders around the Island are regularly home delivered for no extra charge. More recently, orders by email have increased distribution and awareness of our business.

The business provides a craft gallery retail area not only for our own craft and products, but also provides an outlet for over 40 local artists and craftspeople. We make over 100 locally produced souvenirs and market a range of other Australian essential and fragrance oils. We are driven to develop and increase our range of hand made products, helping to employ local people.

Emu Ridge has around 45,000 visitors per year. Guided tours of the distillery have proved to be exceedingly popular. Bus groups now visit regularly and we have visitors from all over the world. People come to experience the heart and soul of the Australian 'spirit' and marvel at our developments; some coming back every few years to see what is new.

Sixty five percent of our customers are international. We are proud to provide additional services to meet their requirements. Information sheets on the uses of Eucalyptus oil are available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Chinese, Indonesian/Malay, Japanese, Swedish, Danish, Greek and Icelandic. Every visitor on a bus group will be given one of these flyers as soon as they arrive.

We have also introduced the 'Self Guided Tour', which gives internationals who speak very little English a chance to read a booklet and follow a map that takes them through the distillery themselves. This means they can take their time and understand everything better, and therefore have a more enjoyable visit. Photo albums and a short video give visitors more of an insight into the business. We recognize that we are catering for a multicultural tourist trade and have been able to make our service more accessible to each customer.

Most international groups will include an interpreter. If not however, staff are more than able to accommodate groups that speak very little English. The tours provide an interactive element, as visitors are able to see, hear, touch and smell everything involved in the distilling process, providing an understanding of the process, regardless of nationality.

For public comfort we provide public and disabled toilets, a shelter and BBQ area as well as a general picnic area.
