Emu Ridge Café
Our Emu Ridge Café offers a great casual dining experience using our region's local produce. Nestled in the bush and just 15 minutes from Kingscote and American River we are in a great position to enjoy a quiet breakfast to start your day. We offer breakfast, Lunch and snacks in-between. We are open from 9am to 4pm for meals all day, locally roasted barista coffee and cakes. We cater to all hungry diners including Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-Free and special dietary requirements. To complement our dining areas we offer a fully licensed bar that has a good selection of local beer, ciders, spirits, and wine. Food and Drinks are also available for takeaway.
Child Friendly
We are child friendly. The front deck has a great play area for families with plenty to keep the children occupied. Kids can enjoy a tasting too! Local & SA Drinks.
Pet Friendly
Pets are welcome as long as the are on a lead at all times. We have leads that you can use and an enclosed picnic area where they can have a run. Please clean up after your pets.
Picnickers Welcome
We have a spacious outdoor area available for children to run free and for picnickers who would like to bring their own food. Our front deck is great family area to!
Bookings for meals are essential for larger groups, so you can choose an area that best suits you. We have three dining areas available:
- The back deck seats 40 people.
- The inside dining area seats 30 people.
- The front deck seats up to 150 people.
There's also the outdoors picnic area with plenty of little spots around the place!
All areas are wheelchair accessible.
Tailored meals are available for groups if pre-booked.

It is FREE to visit our Farm Gate Retail Shop and Cafe. We also offer a complimentary DVD of the distilling process for your interest.
If you would like to see where we make our famous eucalyptus oil we offer Guided Tours in the holidays and self-guided tours all year round.
Kangaroo Island Ciders
We are also the Cellar Door for the award winning Kangaroo Island Ciders with tastings and sales available during opening hours or by appointment.
We have had a long association with Graham and Mary Jones, the owners of Kangaroo Island Ciders.
Larry and Graham met at an essential oils seminar in Adelaide in 1993. Soon after, a lad called Adam Steer chose us as his research subject and we did a lot of research to selectively breed a higher yielding and disease resistant variety of Eucalyptus tree, and Graham helped us with this research.
Through that work, Graham and Mary fell in love with Kangaroo Island and purchased a property near us, and Kangaroo Island Ciders began with the planting of an apple orchard in 2004.
Since then, they have planted over 30 different cider apple varieties including dessert apples and have over 600 trees.
In 2011, they introduced a medium dry Colony Cove Original Cider and in 2012, the medium sweet Colony Cove Draught Cider. Later they introduced Vintage and Non Alcoholic varieties.
The official launch of Kangaroo Island Ciders was on the 17th of November 2012 at Emu Ridge.
Emu Ridge are proud to have been chosen the Winners for the Best Farm Gate and Cellar Door Experience for 2016, and Best Farm Gate 2017 and 2018.
All ciders have won numerous local and national awards. It walks out of our doors -- it really is a delicious drop!
Event Venue Hire
Nestled in a rustic Australian bush setting, Emu Ridge caters for all kinds of events: birthday parties, weddings, school formals, conferences, hens and bucks nights, Christmas parties, and much more. We offer three different seating areas and bar facilities which are all fully licensed.
The atmosphere at Emu Ridge is spectacular, whether you are having an event during the day or later at night. We often have wildlife that comes up to the back deck and is happy to just sit and nibble on the grass. If you are thinking about using our venue at Emu Ridge, bookings for guided tours and/or meals are essential for groups.
We are flexible as to how you want to arrange the evening -- venue hire only, or a combinations of venue hire, additional decorations, wait and bar staff, fully licensed bar and food. We are happy to tailor a menu to best suit you, including special dietary requirements, caterers or self-catering, music and entertainment. We have had a lot of experience and are happy to help you plan your event.
